Monk Fruit Extract
Monk Fruit Extract is a natural sweetener known for its superior taste. However, its applications are less widespread compared to stevia extract. This can be attributed to two key factors:
Limited and unpredictable harvest.
Monk Fruit can only be cultivated in the southern regions of China, resulting in limited and unpredictable harvests of both the fruit and its final extract. While the current production season may see an ample supply of monk fruit extract to meet your demands, the next season may experience a shortage due to a poor harvest.
Price fluctuations linked to harvests.
The price of monk fruit extract is heavily influenced by harvest conditions. Over the past 5 years, we have experienced significant price increases of approximately 50% within a month attributed to poor harvest estimates. Conversely, we have also witnessed a sharp 30% drop in price due to favorable harvest estimates. This volatility makes it challenging for clients to consistently incorporate monk fruit extract into their products.
Our Solutions
However, we have collaborated with a monk fruit extract factory that has its own seed breeding center and plantation. From June to October each year, we are present at the monk fruit plantation, conducting audits and assessments on various factors that may impact pricing, including cultivated areas, growth conditions, and weather patterns. Armed with this firsthand information, we can provide our customers with timely updates and recommendations, alleviating concerns about supply stability and price fluctuations.
